Information the app stores

All of your personal usage data stays on your device in a local database:

• Shows you track and episodes you mark as watched
• Movies you add to your watchlist
• Your viewing statistics (episode counts, watch time)
• Your notification preference

This data never leaves your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes it.

Information sent to third parties

To show film and TV information, the app requests data from The Movie Database (TMDB) over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. When you search or open a title, your search terms and the requested title IDs — together with your IP address — are sent to TMDB so they can return results. This is handled by TMDB under their own privacy policy.

Trailer thumbnails and links open on YouTube; opening a trailer is subject to Google/YouTube's privacy policy.

Advertising

To keep Plotemy free, the app displays ads through AppLovin MAX. To request and measure ads, AppLovin and its ad partners may access your device's advertising identifier, approximate (non-precise) location derived from your IP address, and general device and ad-interaction information. This is used to serve ads, limit repeat ads, and measure performance.

On first launch you'll see a consent prompt (where required by law, e.g. GDPR/CCPA regions) letting you choose how your data is used for ads. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads. Ad data is processed by AppLovin under their privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal data, and we never share the titles you track with advertisers.

Analytics

To count installs and understand overall usage, we use Google Firebase Analytics. We only rely on the anonymous, aggregated metrics Firebase gathers automatically — chiefly app installs (first open), app opens, and session activity — along with approximate device and app-version info and a randomly generated app instance identifier.

We do not track your individual actions, screens, or search terms, and we never log the titles you track, your name, or your email. This data is processed by Google under their privacy policy.

Permissions

• Internet — to fetch film/TV data and images from TMDB.
• Notifications (optional) — to remind you when a tracked show airs a new episode. Reminders are scheduled and shown entirely on your device. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in system settings.

Children's privacy

Plotemy is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Data deletion

Because all data is stored locally and no account exists, you can delete all of your data at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it.

Changes

We may update this policy; the "last updated" date will change accordingly.
